Why Lab-Grown Diamonds

A factual explanation of the material, its origin and its place in the first CHANLO collection—without environmental or investment claims.

Diamond, grown in a laboratory

A lab-grown diamond is created through a technological process rather than formed by geological processes underground. It is not cubic zirconia or moissanite.

Material properties

Laboratory-grown diamonds have essentially the same chemical composition, crystal structure, optical and physical properties as natural diamonds. Specialist testing can determine their origin.

Independent reporting

IGI examines and documents laboratory-grown diamonds, identifying their origin and grading relevant characteristics. The report supplied with a CHANLO diamond-set launch piece is intended to provide an independent record of the individual stone.

Why CHANLO chose them

Lab-grown diamonds allow the first collection to focus on the relationship between diamond size, cut, setting and the finished design across a clear set of options. Natural diamonds remain available through Bespoke.

What the price represents

CHANLO does not present a diamond as a financial investment. The price of a finished piece reflects the selected materials and stone, design development, production, setting, hallmarking, documentation, presentation and client care.
